Forums Moderator
Responsible for managing the daily posts on the Clarion West website. Tasks include validating users, stimulating conversations when possible, and resolving any problems with the users (this last task is a rare one). Should respond to questions from workshop applicants if no other alumni have said anything. Ideally, the new FM wants to help build the Forums into a site for daily alumni visits, with frequent updates and helpful business and writing information.
Necessary skills: basic computer skills, a fair-minded ability to enforce rules, and diplomacy.
The FM should check the Forums at least twice a week during peak months (February - May) and at least once a week the rest of the year. Our planned upcoming revision of the CW website and Forums is an opportunity for the FM to shape the Forums into something easier to use and manage.
Rewards for volunteering as Forums Moderator include networking with CW alumni and always finding out what's happening in the CW community. Also, you'll have the power to make people play nicely in the sandbox (which they usually do anyway).
