Excerpt

Her legs are firm and impossibly long.  Those legs, they glide under the thin red fabric of her tight dress when she crosses them, lady-like, to wag her ankle out of habit, the habit to get noticed, the habit of boredom and seduction.

Her heels could take an eye out.

Topping it off, she wore a black and white lace choker that gave her a French maid look.  Cheap, but it hid the Adam's apple well.

Nice touch. I was jealous as hell.

from "The Transference of Terrance Del" by R R Angell

Bio

R. R. Angell was born under a full moon, a telling detail.  As a Libran, he is always seeking balance; he rides a unicycle and wishes he could juggle better. You may have seen his work in Interzone 216 (the Mundane Science Fiction Issue), Asimov's, The Baltimore Review, and Gargoyle, among others, as well as many anthologies including Sex & Chocolate, Best Date Ever, and Stress City. Ravishing Romance recently bought his vampire story that began life at Clarion West for an as yet unnamed anthology due out sometime. There's more at www.rrangell.com.

Publications

"Remote Control" -- Interzone Issue 216, May 2008

"In The Space Of Nine Lives" -- Asimov's Science Fiction Magazine, January 2006; nominated for a Spectrum Award

Writing Description

Initially electrons on monitors, then a progression to atoms on paper.  I'm still in that part of my writing career where I can do anything I want because nobody's shoehorned me into any boxes. So, hard SF, fantasy, literary stuff, crime, thrillers, and mysteries. I aspire to one day pen a space opera.

Goals

Goals, from the Gaelic meaning "to jail," right? I will do something a little different this year. No new work. I will spend the time revising, editing, slashing, and reinventing stories that have made it through first draft and have been sitting around fermenting in the darkness. In some ways, this is the real sweat and rub of writing. Since I have promised time to spouse (most important), family, and friends during the workshop, I will promise to get a minimum of three stories tuned up and ready to send out the door.

I'm Zen about this. It will happen. I will help.
