Excerpt

This morning, I woke up next to an Amtrak train. It had stolen all the covers, and my feet were freezing.

"How did you get in here?' I asked. It snorted and rolled over. I feared for my bed springs.

"It was snowing and I had nowhere else to go," it said. "You really don’t remember?"

I shook my head and swung one foot off the bed, ready to bolt if necessary. "Did we–" I couldn’t bring myself to finish.

"No," said the train. "You wanted to, but I didn’t want to take advantage. You were very drunk."

Bio

I live in Chicago and am one of the few catless writers to ever exist ever. I've had a few publications, I edit Brain Harvest, and I would be but a husk of my current self were it not for the experiences I had at Clarion West in 2008.

Publications

"The Committee," Farrago's Wainscot

"Wildlife," M-Brane SF #9

"Switch," Things We Are Not, queer anthology

"The Empire Builder," Finalist in Fantasy Magazine's Halloween flash contest

Writing Description

Like eating a marshmallow and finding a toe inside.

Goals

I've got this novel that needs serious editing, and if I don't set a time limit, it will likely take me forever to do it. I don't have weekly goals, but I aim to have a coherent and decent edited draft of the novel by the end of the six weeks. Maybe some stories too, if I'm feeling sassy.
