Excerpt
The clouds and the wind and the sunshine blew around me and the blood-red flowers before me on the stony ridge above the volcano. Was this all I had? Flowers and sky? After all those games, all that death? Where were my sisters? Where was my beloved? Who was I to love? But I was alive. The flowers nodded. It was cold there, and I felt so emptied. I headed north and left those fragile, resilient, vivid flowers that tore at my heart, behind.
Bio
Mom of Alisha Rose since 2008. An importer/businesswoman since 2000, for Evergreen Guardian Imports. Clarion West graduate of 1996. University of Oregon graduate of 1992. St. Lawrence University graduate of 1990. Parenting and business are full time, which is sad because it used to be writing full time and everything else by the wayside. I hope to get at least a little writing done again during the Write-a-thon this year.

Writing Description
Science fiction and fantasy, more in the fantasy vein.
Goals
To write. To write at all. To write a lot. I hate to specify a particular project because it probably won't be what I actually do. Lately I've been wanting to write up some family historical stories, but I also have several big novel projects that need getting back to, in dark fantasy and historical fantasy veins. So I'm pulled in many directions, but won't have much time, being also an almost full-time mom and a half-time businesswoman for Evergreen Guardian Imports. I will try to write at least a little every day. Last year, I feel like I did some good work during the Write-a-thon on one novel.
I don't have big fundraising goals. Whatever people want to contribute. Clarion West was one of the best classes I've had in writing.
