Kelly Hills
Excerpt:
Sure enough, two messages from Deb. The first was titled “second opinion???” and the second a more urgent “THIS IS IMPORTANT PUT DOWN YOUR BEER.”Well, you couldn’t say Deb didn’t know him. They had been cohorts, she two years further along in their PhD program. Rather than get distracted by another advanced degree and staying in the university system to do research, she had whisked off to a small government lab on the other side of the country after graduation; these days he was more apt to hear about her than from her.He clicked the second email first.
