Excerpt:
At the end of the tunnel I had chosen, I saw, to my mortification, my living room. I turned around frantically to run in the other direction by all the replicas of me where happy with where they were. As they crossed the threshold, I clung to them screaming for them to stop but they wouldn’t listen. As the last one crossed over, a tall regal figure brushed by me, stepped over the line, then turned and beckoned. Disbelief washed over me “Mom???”She smiled. “Come along dear, Harriet is waiting”. And she was right, there in my living room Harriet Tubman stood waiting.
Bio:
I'm an aspiring writer who is struggling to stay motivated, but I'm determined to get published no matter what. I'm 25, Jamaican, and in the unfortunate position of having only one publishing house at my disposal. Writing is my life, so like many writers, I have a profound love for the literary arts and a need to write. This is what completes me.Besides writing and reading, I love music, finding cool apps to help my writing, surfing the net, quiet walks, being with those I love, dogs (although I didn’t do so well owning one), cooking, and shopping, to name a few things.Ultimately I intend to be a writer, part-time educator (I start my graduate program tomorrow, and I'm so excited!), an activist for female education globally, and a philanthropist.
Publications:
None, unless the few articles published via Triond count. Right now I mainly ghostwrite.
Writing Description:
My interests and topics vary; however, I seem to really love the journey and dream motives.
Writing Goals:
I want to write two short stories a week for the first four weeks and complete a novella by week six. I may possibly finish a play I started working on years ago.
