Bio
I'm an American writer who met my British husband, Patrick Samphire, at Clarion West in 2001. Now I live in Yorkshire with him, our baby, and our crazy-sweet border collie mix, Maya. My YA Regency fantasy trilogy, The Unladylike Adventures of Kat Stephenson, will be published by Atheneum Books in America, starting with Book One: A Most Improper Magick in early 2010. My short fiction has appeared in several magazines and podcasts, including Strange Horizons, Beneath Ceaseless Skies, and Escape Pod.

Writing Description
My novels are light-hearted YA Regency fantasy adventures, while my short fiction is mostly darker and written for adults.
Goals
I plan to write the first 100 pages of Book Three in my trilogy. This feels particularly right since I spent my first write-a-thon finishing Book One, which sold last year in the middle of my second write-a-thon (during which I finished drafting Book Two).
Book One, A Most Improper Magick, won't be published until early 2010, but anyone who sponsors me in this year's write-a-thon will be entitled to a sneak preview of the first three chapters of the book.
