“Grab the chickens and run!” Imperial Violet shouted as he pelted across the roof, black trenchcoat flying out behind him.
“Why? What’s going on?” I asked, scooping up the nearest hen, Theobroma, with one hand and tucking her into the bib pocket of my denim overalls.
“Pirates!”
“Where?”
“Downstairs!”
“Bloody hell!”
Bio
Tanya McDonald lives in the green realm of Western Washington where she writes fantasy stories and haiku. She is fond of chickens, though she does not presently have any in her yard. Instead, she has several patches of four-leafed clovers and an assortment of weeds. She is a fan of NaNoWriMo and has completed four novels during the zany November writing frenzies. This year, she was honored to have been chosen as an alternate for the Clarion West workshop.

Writing Description
I have no illusions that my stories are anything more than light entertainment, but for now, that is enough.
Goals
My goal is to write as many short stories over 1,500 words as I can during the six weeks. Realistically, I will be doing well to get a story a week written, but if people decided to pledge a certain amount of money per story, I may be motivated to write more.
I shall be asking folks to donate on my blog, as well as on Facebook. While flat donations will of course be welcomed, I’m hoping to encourage friends to pledge a certain amount of money per story I finish for extra motivation.
