Excerpt

Kinesthetic niceties be damned, the press of bodies made me tremble in joy as people danced wildly. . . gorgeously present in their bodies and blowing out their parietals in rainbow-flavored arcs . . . I tamped down on my abstraction and extended my arms out to my fingertips, antennae to the crowd and took humanity in as I leaned into a cuddly sepia-toned Brazilian beauty with an afro as big and soft as cumulus clouds. My nose was open and my body was in the Real.

Writing Description

Perhaps best described as interstitial, if that was an actual description. A bit absurd, a bit horrific, playfully post-post -- some contemporary lit occasionally peeks in –- not necessarily hopeful in the end, but hopefully thought-provoking.

Goals

5,000 words a week. At least four stories submitted to pro markets. Get the website up finally. Outline novel and begin first three chapters. Gotta get it done before school starts again this fall!

Clarion West was instrumental in my development as a writer and I would love to have friends and family help me support it. No amount is too small or large, and anything would be appreciated. Anyone who donates will receive signed copies of the short story manuscripts I produce over the next six weeks. I would love to raise a nice chunk of change so I am also offering the following: if you or your crew donate at least $100, I will incorporate a character name that you choose. I will not guarantee a happy ending....This is a good thing.
