Kathleen Alcala's (CW '87) first story collection, Mrs. Vargas and the Dead Naturalist, is now available as an e-book at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Sony, Kobo, and Copia. A few individual stories are also available. This is an experiment in conjunction with her publisher, Calyx Books.

Nisi Shawl (CW '92) and K. Tempest Bradford (CW '03) have sold stories titled "In Blood and Song" and "The Birth of Pegasus" respectively to the forthcoming "Dark Faith II" anthology.

Caren Gussoff Sumption (CW '08) has a story titled "Glasses Boy" on the
SYBHEL Project Short Story Competition short list. The competition is for stories relating to the legal and ethical issues surrounding synthetic biology in the field of human health. All of the shortlisted stories are available as a free e-book at sybhel.org, where readers can also vote for their favorite story.
