WisWestNonCon

Hi All!

I was feeling a little bummed to miss WisCon this year, so I decided to throw myself a fake literary convention a little closer to home (I'm thinking in or near the Bay Area). Its a non-con because I'm not going to try pulling off a banquet or attracting well known authors or anything like that. What I'm going to do is pick a date and a hotel (if there is enough interest, I'll see about getting a group rate) and going from there.

 At the least, it'll be me and a couple of my writing friends with our laptops spending a weekend writing and talking about interesting things. If it takes off, maybe there will be a small bunch of us and we can organize readings and discussion topics ahead of time. I'd like to do an emphasis on literary science fiction like WisCon, but I'm not married to that idea.

I'm kind of thinking of doing it in May to maximize the missing WisCon consolation aspect.  If it is in May, it'll either be the 3rd/4th or the 31st/June1st. Again, I'm not totally committed to May, just leaning toward it.
