I think we've nearly exhausted our other threads! I just wanted to ask if anyone's gotten their packets or other news. And I've already made a packing list. I'm gonna need more luggage, for sure.

Are any of you peeps going to be at AWP in Denver this next week? If so, hit me up! I'll be stationed at a table for U. Texas-Dallas (Sojourn mag) some of the time, and then running off to listen to Michael Chabon and George Saunders give their two cents for the other part.

Lauren, I love the AWP's emphasis on *practitioners* And Superficial Flesh looks like quite the project. The anthropophagy metaphor definitely has me intrigued! How do you stay on top of all this?

Thanks, John! Superficial Flesh is one of those labors of love that takes me forever to do because it's just me and a few pals putting it together. It's taken me about a year to gather the material we have in this issue, but I'm really proud of the writers we found and the great work they gave us. Sometimes I won't work on the 'zine for months, and then others, bam, we get amazing material that I can add to the "body," so to speak.

I hope we can do something more with it someday, but it takes a little at a time. So right now, it's the 'little zine that could' (unlike my dissertation proposal, which has crashed and burned and will be fed to the compost heap tonight).

Anyway, I'll try to bring all of you a copy of the 'zine (if you want one) when we get up to Seattle. Maybe the next issue could be a fun conglomerate of CW material!

The workshop dates were in your acceptance email--we recommend planning in coming in sometime Saturday, June 19 (the workshop starts Sunday late afternoon) and leaving on Saturday, July 31.

One tip several students have suggested is not to leave too early Saturday morning if you can manage that, as people tend to stay up late late late that last night.

How late may we arrive on June 19th?  I've been looking at flights from Mobile, and most of them (the affordable ones) land in Seattle at 10:00pm.  Would this be too late?
