Andrew S. Williams
Excerpt
I may never get used to having a sky. For my entire adult life, I looked up at the cold metal tiles and fluorescent lights of Persei Waystation, and that was fine with me. Even just staring out the window had been enough to give me vertigo-- a person could get lost in that view, her gaze drifting forever among the stars.
But now there's no ceiling, only a white sky, and two yellow suns shining through the haze. Around me stretches an empty gray plain, where only a few green seedlings dot the landscape.

Writing Description
I write science fiction and fantasy of all stripes; my only niche is that I have no niche. My published short stories include comedic science fiction and dark historical fantasy, and my novel-length projects include epic fantasy, contemporary urban fantasy, and post-apocalyptic science fiction.
Writing Goals
My major project right now is a post-apocalyptic YA novel, sort of a cross between The Wizard of Oz and The Road. I also have a few short stories I'd like to write, so my goal is to complete one new novel chapter or short story per week, for a total of six by the end of the Write-a-thon.
Fundraising Goals
I don't have a set fundraising goal. However, if you donate $5, I will add your name (or a name of your choosing) to a list of names to use for background characters in my novel.
If you donate $20, I will, if you wish, kill off your character onscreen. Limited to the first three people-- but if there turns out to be a strong response, I'll think of something else.
