In this workshop, Jana Bianchi and Diogo Ramos, Brazilian writers and editors who have Portuguese as their first language but write fiction in English, will explore the bumpy road of writing in English as a foreign language. Using examples from their own work and experience, they will explore recurrent obstacles like vocabulary range, false cognates, untranslatable words, idioms, collocations, grammar, and punctuation, among others. They’ll also share tools and tips for overcoming them and help writers to gain confidence in writing in English.
