What I Write

What I Write

I write fiction and personal essays; my current two long-term projects are completing a speculative novel I outlined in 2016 at the KU Center for the Study of Science Fiction’s novel workshop, and slowly chipping away at a collection of personal essays loosely centered around issues of mental health and queerness.

I am, I believe, the most dedicated groupie of Clarion West’s Class of 2017. Team Eclipse forever!! My pronouns are she/her and they/them.

My work has appeared in The Future Fire, North Dakota Quarterly, Pilgrimage, the anthology Poems for the Queer Revolution, and elsewhere. You can read my short story “Free State,” about a queer werewolf in Bleeding Kansas, at this link.

My Write-a-thon Goals

Writing Goals

During the 2020 Writeathon I hope to accomplish the following:

  • Complete and submit (by 7/10) a personal essay with the current working title of “Soft Butch.”
  • Write a minimum of 1000 words a week on my novel, with the aim of completing Part 2 (of 4).
  • Read for a minimum of 30 minutes a day.
