Thursday, July 25 – And here ends my 2017 Write-a-Thon, a touch early because I’m headed out to the Writing Excuses Cruise and Worldcon 75! I completed 5,000 words on a new novel, plus an outline. Thanks to everyone who supported me and Clarion West. Onward!
Thursday, July 13 – Added over 1,000 words about a lightning storm and electrically-charged flying fish.
Monday, July 10 – Another 1,200 words into the book. I began with a writing exercise from K. Tempest Bradford which took the story in a new direction. I have a basic plot outline, but the details are all discovery writing!
Wednesday, July 5 – I’m 1,000 words into the novel. It’s shaping up to be a mystery rather than a heist!
What I Write
When the FTL Redshift shimmered into existence above Chhatrapati Shivaji Space Station, sixty humans cursed both under and over their breath, three Myotonics passed out from stress-related hypotension, and the captain of the FTL Black Mary shut her airlock and prepared to sneak away.
|What I Write||
T.J. Berry has held various jobs, including political blogger, bakery owner, and a disastrous two weeks in a razor blade factory. She now writes science fiction, fantasy, and horror from the outskirts of Seattle with considerably fewer on-the-job injuries.
T.J.’s fiction has appeared in Clowns: The Unlikely Coulrophobia Remix and PodCastle.
My Write-a-thon Goals
I’ll be writing a heist novella called, “The Sisters of the Supersymmetrical Axion.”
The Sisters are a secretive sect of pious assassins living on a remote planet. Their island abbey also houses a supermax facility where the galaxy’s most dangerous criminals are kept on lockdown. When a deadly political prisoner goes missing, the Sisters’ unique skills are called into action to locate the jailbird before another body is discovered.
I’m aiming for a $100 goal!
