Audiobooks, audio dramas, and podcasting have seen an explosion in growth over the last decade in publishing. However, the ways in which we experience oral storytelling have remained largely static, even if platforms have changed rapidly. In this workshop, we will learn what it takes to transform written speculative fiction into fantastic and compelling sonic storytelling.

There will be step-by-step instructions on what to do and not to do, common pitfalls, great resources, recommendations for distribution, and an overall insider’s look at how to create audiobooks with immersive SFX and narration. We will then break out into groups to test out a mock production of a collective short story. This workshop is intended for science fiction, fantasy, and horror writers.

This workshop is available to anyone aged 18 or older for a $55 fee.

Unless otherwise stated, all times listed are US Pacific Time.
