Blood and gore can be fun, but without context, they’re boring. The best horror stories are personal. Learn how to cut to the bone with character work, voice, and theme. We’ll talk about pairing the supernatural with the mundane and how to use emotional verisimilitude to amp up your monsters. It’s time to raise the stakes — and that means aiming for the heart.

NOTE: There will be 3-4 stories assigned for reading before the class. Reading assignments will be emailed to registered participants.
