In the independent publishing world, authors are tasked not only with creating, but with self-promotion. We’ll look at the nuts and bolts of self-marketing, utilizing the tools that are readily (and many times, FREELY) available to us in order to spread your work as widely around the world as possible. From making the most of social media platforms, launching a writer’s website, building a network of book reviewers, to planning virtual readings and book launches, this class will pack a toolbox full of resources and tricks of the trade to help you find your best publicist—YOU! This class is for published authors and those just starting their first book or story—it’s never too early or too late to market your writing and yourself.

A few additional areas Jessica will cover:

  • Making the most of your personal website.
  • Getting your work into the hands of reviewers.
  • What to do (and not do) at literary conferences and conventions.
  • The nuts and bolts of a perfect submission cover letter.
  • How to conquer the fear of networking.
  • And more ways to get involved so that your literary citizenship helps your writerly life!

This workshop is available to anyone aged 18 or older for a $0 fee.
