Alumni Reading and Social at CAM
August 15 @ 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Join the Clarion West board, staff, and Seattle Community for an off-site Worldcon event for alumni and friends! The event begins with a reading featuring Andrea Hairston (CW ’99), Tim Chawaga (CW ’19), Natalia Theodoridou (CW ’18), David Sandner (CW ’87), Kristina Ten (CW ’19), and Henry Lien (CW ’12). After a short state-of-the-org and opportunity for Q&A with the Clarion West team, staff and party hosts Nancy Kress and Andy Duncan will mingle during our open social. Please RSVP so we can get a headcount, and to get event announcements. This event is free for alumni and the greater Clarion West community and is sponsored by Tegan Moore (CW ’15) and Chris Hahn. No WorldCon membership required. CAM will offer a donation bar with wine and beer (they welcome donations of your favorite brew!). Our sponsors and Clarion West are providing light snacks and refreshments.
Common Objects (the event space of Common AREA Maintenance) will offer a donation bar with wine and beer (they welcome donations of your favorite brew!). Our sponsors and Clarion West are providing light snacks from OHSUN Banchan Deli & Cafe.
The doors will open at 5:00 p.m. and the reading will begin by 5:15 p.m.
Common Objects is located in Seattle’s Belltown neighborhood at 2601 1st Ave.
Food & drinks around Belltown:
Clarion West is hosting refreshments on site, however if you are still hungry (or thirsty) after the social, there are several bars and restaurants just down the street from Common Objects, including Some Random Bar directly across the street.
Getting there from the Convention Center:
Common Objects is a 20-minute walk from the Convention Center Summit Building or a short 6-minute walk to the Westlake Center Monorail to Seattle Center with another 11 minute walk back to Common Objects. A ride share will cost between $11-$20. There is a paid parking lot directly across the street.
All are welcome!
