Clarion West After Dark Gala

We are a 501c3 nonprofit with the mission of supporting emerging and underrepresented voices by providing writers with world-class instruction to empower their creation of wild and amazing worlds. Through conversation and public engagement, we bring those voices to an ever-expanding community. We are currently pursuing sponsorships for our second annual fundraising gala: Clarion West After Dark, featuring Guest of Honor Daniel Abraham, co-author of the Expanse novels and writer-producer of the television series. We seek donors at all levels as well as in-kind donations such as media outlet coverage. Here are some numbers that reflect what we do:

• In 2020-2021, Clarion West distributed $42,037 in scholarships to writers across the world.
• During that time, our alumni have published 94 short stories and 12 novels and have been nominated for 56 industry awards.
• Last year’s gala came in 36% over goal, earning over $40,000 to cover the costs of scholarships, world class instructors, ADA accessible classes, and much more.
• Over 36,000 visitors to our website in 2021.
• Over 5,600 Twitter followers
• Over 6,000 individuals on our mailing list
• 4,631 views of live and recorded programming on our YouTube channel in 2021
