The trivia quiz will consist of eight rounds of eight questions each, played by teams of up to eight people. Questions are read aloud by Quizmaster, Curtis Chen, and teams write down the answers, turning them in at the end of each round.

Our Trivia Enthusiasts:

Cherie Priest, Team Captain
– TEAM FULL – Cherie Priest is the author of nearly two dozen books and novellas, most recently Brimstone, The Family Plot, I Am Princess X, Chapelwood, and the Philip K. Dick Award nominee Maplecroft; but she is perhaps best known for the steampunk pulp adventures of the Clockwork Century, beginning with Boneshaker. Her works have been nominated for the Hugo and Nebula awards for science fiction, and have won the Locus Award (among others) – and over the years, they’ve been translated into nine languages in eleven countries. Cherie lives in Seattle, WA, with her husband and a menagerie of exceedingly photogenic pets.

Brooks Peck, Team Captain
– TEAM FULL – Brooks Peck is Senior Curator at the Museum of Pop Culture. There he has curated numerous science fiction and fantasy exhibitions including shows on Battlestar Galactica and Avatar among others. His most recent show is Star Trek: Exploring New Worlds, which is currently touring North America, and he’s about to launch an exhibition on Minecraft. He is also a writer, and co-authored two creature features for the Syfy Channel, including Zombie Apocalypse starring Ving Rhames.
Fair warning: Brooks used to write science fiction trivia professionally. [Truth in advertising: As a trivia writer Brooks could look stuff up, so he probably doesn’t remember any of the trivia he wrote.]
Tom Nissley, Team Captain
Tom Nissley is the owner of Phinney Books and Madison Books in Seattle, the author of A Reader’s Book of Days, and an eight-time Jeopardy! champion.
Cat Rambo, Team Captain
Cat Rambo lives, writes, and teaches atop a hill in the Pacific Northwest. Her over 200 fiction publications include stories in Asimov’s, Clarkesworld, and The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction. She is an Endeavour, Nebula, and World Fantasy Award nominee. Her 2016 publications include Hearts of Tabat, Neither Here Nor There and the updated edition of Creating an Online Presence for Writers. For more about her, as well as links to her fiction, see
