Carmen Maria Machado at Town Hall Seattle
Carmen Maria Machado is speaking at Town Hall Seattle on Friday, January 24, 2020. Her new memoir, In the Dream House, is Machado’s engrossing and wildly innovative account of a relationship gone bad, and a bold dissection of the mechanisms and cultural representations of psychological abuse.

Andy Duncan (CW ’94) was promoted in August to professor of English at Frostburg State University, in the mountains of western Maryland. His 2019 fiction publications include “Charlie Tells Another One” in Asimov’s (September/October) and “Mr. Percy’s Shortcut” in the original anthology If This Goes On, edited by Cat Rambo.
Julie McGalliard (CW ’06) has released a new novel entitled Stripping Down to Scars. The novel, set in New Orleans, is a sequel to Waking Up Naked in Strange Places.
Carlie St. George (CW ’12) has a short story entitled “You Were Once Wild Here” in The Dark’s December issue.
Filip Hajdar Drnovšek Zorko (CW ’19) has a short story entitled “The AI that Looked at the Sun” in the January issue of Clarkesworld. It is his first ever publication and was written in Week Two at Clarion West.
Izzy Wasserstein (CW ’17) has a short story, “Requiem Without Sound,” this month in Escape Pod. Another short story of hers, “The Grass Bows Down, the Pilgrims Walk Lightly,” is in the current issue of Analog.
Natalia Theodoridou (CW ’18) has a new game out this month. An Odyssey: Echoes of War is a queer, feminist retelling of the Homeric epic published by Choice of Games.
